Welcome to My FAVORite Things, the official blog of Party FAVORites. I feel like I am jumping off of a cliff as I write this, but they say the first blog post is the hardest. I am confident that the blogging will get easier - I am usually never at a loss for words.
I have been quietly putting PARTY FAVORites together for the past 18 months in my head and now it is finally time to officially announce it to the world. For the past year and a half I have been planning my own son's Bar Mitzvah as well as helping friends with all of the fabulous "finishing touches" for their own special events. I have been combining the experience that I gained in my previous life as an event planner with my current experience in marketing and graphic design to "Brand" special events such as Bar Mitzvahs, Weddings and Baby Showers for friends, neighbors and relatives. Thus the spark for PARTY FAVORites ignited!
Through my extensive research for my own special event and the events of my friends, I have found that the Washington, DC area is missing two things in the special event industry. First, we are missing a single, local source for all of the finishing touches to "polish" a party - cocktail napkins, favors, out-of-town baskets, placecards, event logos and more. Second, this area seems to be missing a local resource for pre-screened party vendors such as photographers, florists, decorators, entertainment, party planners etc. Party FAVORites was created to give you all of this and more!
Whether you are planning an event in the next 6 weeks, 6 months or 6 years (every girl can dream about her wedding), I hope you will follow Favorite Things and be inspired.
