Everything that is old is new again...I've just returned from the National Stationery Show in New York and one of the hottest trends that I saw in special event invitations (especially for weddings) was Letterpress Printing.
So what is Letterpress? It is actually the oldest form of printing. With this printing method, ink is applied to the raised portions of metal or hard plastic printing plates which are then pressed on paper to create an image that is "stamped in" the paper. Letterpress invitations have texture and depth which is part of their appeal and elegance. Letterpress is a pricey printing method because each color must be printed separately but the unique, handmade quality of letterpress invitations, makes them a favorite-especially of brides and Mitzvah moms.
